Hi, I’m Chris
Let me tell you what to expect from this blog, and then I’ll tell you more about myself.
My goal in authoring this content and building a community of learners=>stewards is to educate and inspire the next generation of young Christian adults to become wise and faithful managers of the material resources God gives to them.
The content on this site will mainly target college students and young adults, whether single or married, who have recently entered the workplace and are trying to figure out the whole ”money and Christian stewardship thing.”
I think this will be helpful to you, not because of my credentials (which don’t mean much when it comes to personal finance and stewardship since I’ve received no formal professional training in the topic), but because I’ve made some mistakes. I’ve counseled and coached others who have, too, and I think I can help you avoid them. (I’ve also written a stewardship blog focused on retirement and authored a few books on the subject—check them out if you’d like.)
In authoring this content, I hope to condense many decades of life experience and knowledge—including some unwise decisions and financial missteps—into a series of ”lessons” for your reading pleasure. I believe that if you take the underlying message seriously, which is that all you have belongs to God and that it matters what you do with it starting early in your adult life, it will have the power to transform your financial life, your family (if or when you have one), your church, and community.
This may sound like a get-rich-quick scheme, but I can assure you it’s not. It’s a slowly growing wealth scheme, the only way I know of accumulating it. It’s also a generosity scheme, which needs to be at the heart of every good life and stewardship plan.

Now, a little more about me.
My mission is to help others with their personal finances, careers, businesses, and especially retirement since I am retired. In coaching and writing, I emphasize practicality, simplicity, and personal responsibility.
In addition to this site, I am also the creator of Retirement Stewardship, a blog I started in 2015 to help Christians navigate retirement's financial and spiritual challenges with wisdom and stewardship. After retiring from a 30+ year career in IT, I felt called to use my time and experience to serve others by sharing what I’ve learned.
I’m not a financial advisor or retirement planning expert—just someone walking the same road and committed to helping others plan, save, and give generously from a biblical perspective. My approach values simplicity, wisdom, prudence, and faithfulness in managing God’s gifts.
In addition to blogging, I’ve authored three books, including Reimagine Retirement: Planning and Living for the Glory of God. (All three are available on Amazon). I also volunteer as a deacon and stewardship ministry leader in my local church and in community-focused outreach.
Retirement is a new season for me to pursue God’s call, steward His resources wisely, and make a difference in His kingdom. I hope my work encourages and equips you to do the same.
Although my main focus has been writing on my retirement blog, I have also published articles on The Gospel Coalition (TGC) blog, Desiring God Ministries, and Radical.net.
My professional background is as an IT professional, not a financial salesperson or advisor. I retired in late 2018 from my job as an IT Architect/Strategist for a large regional bank.
I am a staff deacon at CrossWay Community Church in Charlotte, NC, focusing on stewardship and generosity, faith and work integration, and ministry support. I also coordinate and volunteer in various community outreach programs.
When I’m not busy with those things, I enjoy reading, hiking, fishing, playing the guitar, and doing fun (and sometimes crazy) stuff with my wife of over 50 years (and counting), my two children, and my six grandchildren.
